New Updates!!!

Things have gotten a little stale over the last few months here on fayettefire.org. But we're back online! We had some issues with our previous web host (web.com) which provided us with a free "upgrade" to our hosting package. That "upgrade" made updating our website nearly impossible. So we've switched companies and should be good to go! We've added a few new pics of some MVC's in our photo gallery. Thanks for hanging in there with us!

Sincerely
Assistant Chief James Woda
Webmaster

Thank You!!!

On November 4, 2008 we asked you to support a levy that would lay the ground work to combine the two township fire departments. And that levy passed 1,469 to 982. So what does that mean? Effective July 2009 the Fayette Township Fire Department #1 and the Fayette #2 Volunteer Fire Department will come together as the Fayette Township Fire Department. You will continue to have the same level of fire protection as you ever had and your taxes will not increase. The transition has already begun and we will keep you updated here at fayettefire.org.

Local FD's participate in Live Fire Training

October 5, 2008: Occasionally we'll be contacted by a Fayette Township resident who is planning on tearing down an old house. Such was the case on Buffalo Creek Road on October 5th. This house was donated for us to burn in a live fire training class. These types of training allow us valuable real life fire experience to help hone our skills. Various scenarios were simulated throughout the day. Several other Lawrence County fire departments participated. Over fifty photos of the fire have been posted here in our photo gallery. If you're interested in donating an old house for live fire training contact our training department at training@fayettefire.org.
