What can you do for...you?

Before I joined the fire department I was like
anyone else. If there were a fire or a car wreck in
the neighborhood I would walk down to see what was
happening. It didn't take long for me to turn in an
application. As a member of the fire department for
the past 14 years I can tell you that it has been
one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I
still get to go see what is happening but now I know
how to help. On a local level there is no better way
to contribute to your community. There are many ways
you can help. Click here to

Four Departments Respond to Burlington Fire

April 5, 2009: We
responded to a fully involved structure fire shortly
before midnight on April 5th. The initial fire
attack was hindered because of power lines were down
in the rear of the residence. Units from Fayette #2
as well as South Point and Chesapeake Fire
Departments were called to the scene. The Ohio State
Fire Marshal's office was contacted to conduct the
investigation.
More Photos are available in our
photo gallery. They
were taken by a former Fayette Twp Firefighter Roy
Evans who has been recently reinstated as the
department's photographer.

Burlington House Fire Ruled Arson

February 12, 2009: A
late night fire left one family homeless. The fire
was initially reported at 1:18am and when the first
truck arrived at scene it was fully involved with
fire. Unit's from Fayette #2, South Point and
Chesapeake fire departments assisted with
extinguishment. At one point the emergency
evacuation alarm (a long blast of the air horn) was
sounded due to structural instability that was
discovered while crews were working on the inside.
The fire has been determined to be arson by the Ohio
State Fire Marshal's office. If you have any
information you are asked to call 1-800-589-2728.
There is a $5,000 reward for information that leads
to conviction of whoever is responsible.

Burlington Apartment Catches Fire

February 6, 2009: A four
unit apartment building caught fire just before 9am.
Units from Fayette #2, South Point, Chesapeake and
Ceredo FD's responded to assist. Initial reports
were that there may have been victim's trapped
inside but when Engine 2-5 arrived at the scene the
tenants reported that everyone got out safely.
Although one unit was completely destroyed the
contents of the other three were spared for the most
part. The cause of the fire was determined to be
accidental by the Ohio State Fire Marshal's office.
More Photos are available in our
photo gallery. Special thanks to former chief
Jerry Lockhart for the photos.
